2008 SHAREHOLDER APPRECIATION PARTY For those who have already signed up for our next fabulous season of 2008---you are invited to an appreciation party! Please reserve
Saturday February 2 on your calendar (late afternoon-early evening). This will not be held at La Vista, but at another location that is just as nice! We thank you for committing to next season and we'll be back in
touch with you in January with specific information.
For those who have not yet re-joined, we encourage you to do so by going to filling out an application and sending in your first payment. This helps our budget now as our bills currently include utilities, Farmer Kris's salary and seed orders. Signing up for the 2008 season by this December 31 will include you in the Shareholder appreciation party on February 2.
SPRING GREENS ALMOST SOLD OUT As of this date, there are only seven (7) Spring Greens shares remaining. Spring Greens is a five-week pre-season share that provides one pound
per week of gourmet mixed salad greens. The cost is $30 for the share and is available only to regular season members. If you are hoping to get one of these early shares, send in your application ASAP! You can
download an application from our website.
WINTER SOLSTICE CELEBRATION Don't miss this opportunity to join others on Saturday, December 22nd, 7:00 PM, in an alternative gathering that tunes out of consumerism and tunes
into a creative and liberating way to welcome the Winter Season. Barren trees, browned grasses, gardens gone dormant - a time to rest with the Earth and celebrate both darkness and light with poetry, ponderings,
fire, and the turning of the sun staff, weather permitting! We'll gather at 7:00 inside the lower part of the main house at La Vista. Please bring a wintertime drink or dessert to share around the fire after our
ritual.
Optional donation; please call 618-466-5004 and let us know how many will be participating!

HARVEST PARTY The annual Harvest Party will be this Sunday, November 11, 2007 from 4 - 6 PM. This is our last get together until next year, so please come
to this Harvest of Thanksgiving event.
There will be hayrides, a bon fire, hot apple cider, and good old-fashioned visiting with garden members. Farmer Kris will be giving a not-to-miss slide show of pictures from the past
year. Also, the brand-new documentary film about the Oblate Ecological Initiative, including our Garden, will be shown.
The theme is "Soups and Stews" so please bring your best soup or stew to share with everyone. Drinks will be provided. However, bring your own bowls, plates, cups, eating
utensils, and napkins. Providing these items makes clean up easier and no one person gets stuck doing all the dishes!
Please plan to be there!! We'll be looking for you.
LAST PICK-UP Don't forget that the last pick-up of the season is the week of Nov 12. This is the week AFTER the Harvest Party. Don't miss out on these last two weeks of
distribution. The produce has been beautiful and bountiful!

ANNUAL SHAREHOLDER MEETING THIS SUNDAY The annual meeting for shareholders will be this Sunday, October 7, 2007
from 4:00 - 6:00 PM. This is our official meeting of the year and your presence is highly encouraged. Farmer Kris has his official report to submit for the year. Reports from the various committees will be given as
well including our financial report. There will be ample opportunity for questions and discussion. We will also be looking into next season and you won't want to miss it!
Please bring a finger food or healthy snack or drink to share. Also bring your own napkin, plate and cup. And a chair if possible.
2008 SHARES NOW AVAILABLE ! The application forms for the 2008 season are now available! With much interest coming from new folks interested in joining the CSG, you don't
want to delay re-joining for next year as we have only a limited amount of total shares available-----first come, first served. The application forms can be found on line at our website www.lavistacsa.org as well as hard copies in the distribution room at the barn. REMEMBER - there is a limited number of spring green shares available. These tend to be sold to the first who sign up for the season.
For the first time in our history (2008 will be our 6th season) there has been a small price increase. This is so that we can help meet our expenses for salary, seeds, energy, etc. This
will be one of our important discussion points at this Sunday's annual meeting.
SWEET POTATO HARVEST THIS SATURDAY Come on out and help Farmer Kris this Saturday (October 6th) with the "Sweet Potato Harvest". It is at 9 AM.
Please bring your hat and water.
6 FULL WEEKS LEFT THIS SEASON Farmer Kris and assistants have diligently prepared a wonderful Fall harvest season for us shareholders. Don't forget that we have 6 awesome
weeks of really very fine vegetables left in this season. The season extends through the week of November 13. Enjoy!
