SHAREHOLDER GATHERING THIS SUNDAY Come on out to the shareholder gathering this Sunday, September 9, 2007. This will be a "meeting with an
eating" theme! We will gather at 4:00 to get important updates from Farmer Kris and our Core Group. There will plenty of time for interaction and everyone's input is most valuable as we begin to plan for next
season and beyond. At 5:00 we will break for covered dish and swap a favorite recipe you've tried this season (please make a few copies to share along with a covered dish). We will finish no later than 6:00.
GREETERS NEEDED Greeter volunteers are still needed. We've had great participation so far this season and many, many thanks to those you have volunteered your time. The
hottest days of summer are over so it's a great time to try working as a greeter. You will find it's an enjoyable way to spend an hour or two at our beautiful barn. It's a great help to Farmer Kris too. When no one
is scheduled to greet, Kris is pulled from is regular work to cover. So, remember the sign up sheet is in the barn.
One more note about greeting. If you sign up and find you can't make your scheduled time, please call Kris at the barn office (618-467-2104) a day in advance, so he can change his work
plans to cover the greeter responsibilities.
PUBLICITY CHAIR PERSON NEEDED The publicity committee is looking for a new chairperson. Penny Schmidt, who chaired the committee for several years, is stepping down. Many
thanks to Penny for all her hard work on this committee! This is a key volunteer position that is especially important as the garden starts planning for the 2008 season.
If you are interested in helping the publicity committee with this important position please contact Robyne O'Mara via email at robyne@charter.net or phone 618-466-3459.

and flowers! The Community Supported Garden at La Vista will be having an OPEN HOUSE this Friday, August 17, 2007 from 5:00 - 7:00 pm. Along with the Friday afternoon distribution, there will be cooking demos going
on as well as tomato samples for tasting. Please pass the word as we'd like the public to know firsthand about our wonderful farm and its bountiful summer harvest. All are welcome at the distribution room here at
the end of Levis Lane this Friday. It will be cooler that day too!!
COOKING DEMONSTRATION The Education committee will be having another COOKING DEMONSTRATION in the barn between 5:00 - 7:00 pm during distribution on Friday. This was great fun
last time! (Did you get to try the chocolate cake made with beets?!! It was really good!) Come see what's cooking!
VOLUNTEER WORK DAY - Saturday 8/18, 8am Cooler weather is expected this weekend, so come on out to help Farmer Kris in the fields. He really needs the help since it's been
